Clean Water Projects The Vietnam News carried this headline and article, May 16, 2003:
Dr. Le Van Can, responsible for the National Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Programme, said nearly 50 per cent of people in rural Viet Nam have insufficient access to clean water, with 63 per cent of rural families having either no toilet or inadequate sanitation facilities. The plea for help in this area is incessant. While the need for clean water in rural areas is most often cited, there are portions of cities in desperate need as well. Children at the Da Nang area school pictured at right have no running water. UniReach has established relationships with experts in the area of clean water. Their knowledge would enable us to complete not only simple projects such as new wells in rural areas, but more sophisticated projects in urban areas. We continue our search to find additional experts to enable future projects but the primary need is for partners interested in funding such projects.
